Job time calculator
Type in the bare work hours, the travel, setup, materials, and clean-up time around it, and your last three jobs. See the realistic hours a job needs, the hours a bare guess misses, and what those hours are worth. Updates live as you type. No signup, nothing saved, nothing sent anywhere.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. We never receive the client names and amounts you type. We never store them. They are gone when you close the tab. Why we can say that →
Job time calculator
The steps of the job itself, added up — not travel or setup.
In hours, there and back combined.
In hours.
In hours, across the whole job, not per visit.
In hours, across the whole job.
Quoted hours and the hours the job actually took. Leave a row at zero to skip it — the overrun factor below uses only the rows you fill in.
No job history yet, so this uses an overrun factor of ×1.00 — the bare estimate, uncorrected. Fill in a past job above for a real number.
Average of actual ÷ quoted hours, from the jobs you filled in.
The gap between the work hours alone and the realistic total above.
The money a quote built on the bare guess would give away.

Why the overrun factor, not a bigger guess
Padding an estimate by a round number — "add an hour, just in case" — is still a guess. The overrun factor above is not. It is your own last few jobs, measured. It shows how much longer the work actually took than the hours you quoted. That corrects for the real pattern in your own work, not a general feeling that things always run long.
Bare work hours are not the whole quote
Travel, setup, materials, clean-up, and waiting rarely make it into a rushed estimate. Yet they take real time on every job. This tool adds them back in, per visit. The hours the bare guess misses get an actual size, and a dollar figure. You see both before you write a number on the quote.
Want the full method? It covers breaking a job into steps, and setting contingency by how familiar the job is. It also covers what to tell the client instead of an exact duration. Read how long will it take.
Want last job's hours on hand for the next one?
BizBinder does not time a job or estimate it for you — that call stays yours. It keeps the hours you record against each job. A similar job next month gets a real number to check against, not a memory.
